Booking Pompeii online

More time exploring, less time at the ticket office

The Archaeological Park of Pompeii uses named tickets and may apply admission limits and time slots. Booking in advance is therefore recommended, especially during busy periods.

With the guided tour selected by Amalfi Coast Lovers, you enter with the required admission ticket and discover the Roman city with a licensed guide. After the guided visit, you may continue exploring independently until the site closes.

  • Named Pompeii Express ticket included with the guided product
  • Licensed guide in the language selected during booking
  • Route through the Forum, public buildings, baths and houses, subject to openings
  • Option to remain inside the archaeological site after the tour
  • Assistance before and after booking
What does “skip the line” mean? You avoid the standard ticket-office purchase process. Security checks, identity checks and high visitor numbers may still cause a short wait.
What you will discover

Two thousand years of history, explained where it happened

Pompeii lies in the Metropolitan City of Naples, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Its streets, homes and public spaces preserve the Roman city buried by the eruption of AD 79. The archaeological areas of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Torre Annunziata have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

Frequently asked questions

Pompeii tickets and guided visits

What does the online booking include?

The product shown in the booking calendar includes a shared guided visit of approximately 2 hours and a named Pompeii Express ticket. The selected language, time, price, availability and current conditions are shown before payment.

What does the Pompeii Express ticket include?

The Pompeii Express ticket gives access to the ancient city. The suburban villas and other sites covered by Pompeii+ ticket options are not included unless your booking summary explicitly states otherwise.

Does “skip the line” mean there will be no waiting?

It means you avoid the standard ticket-office purchase process. You may still have to wait for security checks, identity checks or because of high visitor numbers.

Can I stay inside the ruins after the tour?

Yes. When the guided visit ends, you may continue exploring independently until closing time. Once you leave the Park, you cannot re-enter with the same ticket.

Where is the meeting point?

For the guided tour, meet at the local provider’s office specified on your voucher, inside the Circumvesuviana station at Pompei Scavi – Villa dei Misteri, a short walk from the Porta Marina Superiore entrance. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Can I also book a private transfer to Pompeii?

Yes. Use the quote form to request a private car or minivan from Salerno, Naples, Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, ports, railway stations, airports and other locations in Campania.

Is the visit suitable for travellers with reduced mobility?

The standard itinerary includes ancient paving and uneven surfaces. The Park offers an accessible route known as “Pompeii for All”, with access from Piazza Anfiteatro. Contact us before booking so that we can check the most suitable option.

Where can I check the official opening hours?

Opening hours change during the year. Consult the Archaeological Park of Pompeii’s official timetables and tickets page and always check the time shown on your voucher.
