Book your ferry tickets online
Enter your departure port, destination, travel date and passengers in the widget. For a day trip, search for the return journey too, so you can check the available sailings and the total price before booking.
Before confirming: check the exact departure port, any intermediate stops, luggage and extras, the total price and the ticket conditions. Routes listed in this guide may not have a sailing available every day of the year.
Ticket searches and purchases are handled by Misterferry. The selected ferry company operates the crossing. This page uses an affiliate link. For changes, cancellations or support with a ferry ticket, follow the instructions in your booking confirmation and your Misterferry account.
How to choose the right ferry for your trip
Choose the right departure port
Select a boarding point that works with your hotel, railway station or airport. Salerno and Naples have different ferry terminals: check which one your sailing uses.
Compare the whole journey
Consider your arrival time, crossing duration, stops and the cost of both outbound and return tickets. Choose sailings that leave enough time to enjoy your destination.
Complete your itinerary
Combine the ferry with a private transfer to the port or a local experience, allowing enough time between bookings.

Ferries along the Amalfi Coast
As well as Amalfi and Positano, consider services to Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori and Minori. Some itineraries require a change at Amalfi: check whether your journey is direct or involves a connection.
Ferries and hydrofoils to Capri
Compare departures from Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Salerno and Castellammare di Stabia. Services from Naples and Sorrento and seasonal routes from the Amalfi Coast follow different timetables.
From Sorrento to the coast
Search for Sorrento–Positano and Sorrento–Amalfi ferries to visit the coastal towns by sea. If the available sailings do not suit your plans, consider a private car or minivan transfer.
Planning to continue to Ischia or Procida? Search for your destination in the booking engine and check the connections available, including any changes of port or vessel.
Plan your boarding
Where do the ferries depart from? Your port guide
The city name alone is not enough: read the departure port shown on your booking and confirm the boarding pier with the operator. Allow time to reach the ticket office, complete check-in when required and get to the boarding point.
Salerno
Concordia and Molo Manfredi
These are different departure points. Check the terminal for your ferry company and sailing before arranging transport from the railway station or your hotel.
Naples
Beverello and Porta di Massa
Check whether your sailing uses Molo Beverello or Calata Porta di Massa. Arrange your airport or railway station transfer to the correct terminal.
Sorrento
Marina Piccola port
The passenger port is at Marina Piccola. Sorrento’s town centre is higher up: allow time to reach the waterfront, particularly when travelling with luggage or children.
Amalfi
Waterfront harbour area
Go to the passenger boarding area and check the ferry company and departure pier. A scheduled ferry and a private excursion may have different meeting points.
Positano
Pier by Spiaggia Grande
Passenger services depart from the Spiaggia Grande area. Your route from the hotel may involve steps and walking: plan how to reach the pier with your luggage.
Capri
Marina Grande port
Scheduled ferry services arrive at Marina Grande. From there, allow for the onward journey to your hotel, Capri town or Anacapri.
Staying in Ravello, Praiano or somewhere without the sailing you need? Choose a port served on your travel date and complete the journey with a private transfer. Ravello is reached by road and is not a ferry arrival port.
Ferry timetables, prices and tips before you travel
How much do ferry tickets cost?
Prices depend on the route, ferry company, date, passenger category and extras. When comparing Capri and Amalfi Coast ferry prices, check the total shown for your own journey.
- Check whether the price is for a one-way ticket or a return journey.
- Check luggage, pets, any island landing fees and booking fees.
- Enter each child’s age on the date of travel.
- Read the fare conditions before you buy.
Plan your departures and return
A convenient itinerary includes the journeys on land as well as the ferry crossing. Plan carefully if you need to connect with a train, flight or cruise ship.
- For a day trip, choose and check your return sailing before booking the outbound journey.
- Follow the ferry company’s required arrival and check-in times.
- Allow time between disembarking and a tour, restaurant booking or transfer.
- Check the operator’s latest communications before going to the port.
Seasonal services and weather: some routes operate seasonally. Sea conditions can lead to timetable changes or cancelled sailings. If a departure is cancelled, follow the ferry company’s instructions and contact the service you booked through.
Ideas for a day trip by ferry
These are itinerary ideas to adapt to the sailings available, rather than packages with guaranteed connections. Choose your ferries first and check that activities at your destination fit your arrival and return times.
Salerno, Amalfi and Positano
Consider visiting Amalfi, continuing to Positano and returning to Salerno. If you want to spend time in both towns, book the separate journeys you need.
With Travelmar, a Salerno–Positano ticket does not allow you to stop for a visit in Amalfi and continue later on the same ticket.
Capri from Sorrento
Depart from Sorrento, explore Capri and Anacapri according to the time available and take your chosen return sailing. Plan island transport and any boat activities separately.
Capri from the Amalfi Coast
Check departures from Amalfi or Positano on your date. For swimming stops and an itinerary dedicated to your group, explore our private boat tours.

Answers to help you plan
Amalfi Coast, Capri and Sorrento ferry FAQs
Practical information about bookings, ports, luggage and itineraries. Check your booking confirmation and the selected operator’s conditions for the details that apply to your sailing.
Where can I book Amalfi Coast ferry tickets?
You can search for and buy ferry tickets using the Misterferry widget on this page. Enter your departure port, destination, date and passengers to see the sailings available to book for your trip. If the widget does not appear, use the link to open the search in a separate window.
How much do ferries to Amalfi, Positano and Capri cost?
There is no single fixed price. The fare depends on the route, operator, date, passenger category and extras. Search for your journey in the widget and check the total, including any luggage charges, landing fees and booking fees, before paying.
How long is the ferry from Salerno to Amalfi and Positano?
In the Travelmar timetable checked for this guide, Salerno–Amalfi takes around 35 minutes on faster sailings and around 60 minutes on services with more stops. Salerno–Positano takes around 70 minutes. These times are indicative: check the duration and stops for your chosen sailing.
How long is the ferry from Sorrento to Capri?
The Sorrento–Capri crossing takes approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on the vessel and sailing. Check the duration shown in your booking and allow time for check-in, boarding and the onward journey from Marina Grande to your destination on the island.
Are there direct ferries from Amalfi or Positano to Capri?
Seasonal services connect Amalfi and Positano with Capri. Some sailings from Amalfi stop at Positano without requiring a change of vessel. Check availability for your date: a listed route does not mean that services run throughout the year.
Which terminal do ferries depart from in Salerno?
Salerno departures may use Piazza della Concordia or Molo Manfredi, depending on the company and sailing. These are separate boarding areas. Check the terminal in your confirmation and arrange transport to the correct departure point.
Where do Naples–Capri ferries and hydrofoils depart from?
Check whether your sailing departs from Molo Beverello or Calata Porta di Massa. Your ferry company, vessel type and booking determine the terminal. Confirm the specific departure point when arranging transport to the port of Naples.
Do ferries arrive at Marina Grande or Marina Piccola on Capri?
Scheduled ferries and hydrofoils arrive at Marina Grande. Marina Piccola is a different area of the island. If your hotel or meeting point is elsewhere, allow time to travel there from the ferry port.
Do Amalfi Coast ferries run in winter?
Some services along the Amalfi Coast and to Capri are seasonal and may be unavailable in winter. Timetables vary between ports and operators. Check actual sailings for winter dates, including options from Naples or Sorrento, and consider a land transfer where appropriate.
How early should I arrive at the port? Do I need a printed ticket?
Follow the arrival and check-in times required by your ferry company; there is no single rule for every sailing. Read your confirmation to see whether a digital ticket is accepted for boarding or whether you must collect a boarding pass at the ticket office. Bring the required documents for all travellers, including children.
Can I bring suitcases, a pushchair or a pet?
Rules vary by operator and vessel. Check the number, size and weight of included bags, any additional charges and the arrangements for pushchairs and pets. When travelling with a pet, confirm the operator’s booking requirements and rules for carriers, leads and any other equipment before buying your ticket.
Do children pay for ferry tickets? Can I request assistance?
Age bands and fares for children and infants vary between ferry companies. Enter the correct age for the travel date and check the conditions. If you need boarding assistance or have mobility requirements, contact the operator before booking to confirm the vessel and port arrangements and how to request support.
Can I take a car or scooter on the ferry?
Hydrofoils and many fast passenger vessels do not carry vehicles. If you plan to travel with a car or scooter, choose a vessel that expressly offers vehicle transport and check the conditions for taking it to your destination. Vehicle availability can differ between sailings on the same route.
Can I stop in Amalfi with a Salerno–Positano ticket?
With Travelmar, if you want to leave the ferry in Amalfi, visit the town and continue to Positano later, you need separate Salerno–Amalfi and Amalfi–Positano tickets. An intermediate port stop is not a flexible sightseeing stopover. Check the specific conditions for other operators.
Can I visit Amalfi and Positano, or Capri, in one day?
You can plan a day trip if the available ferry times leave enough time at your destination. Choose your outbound and return sailings first, check any connections and allow for journeys on land. Leave a comfortable margin before flights, trains or your cruise ship’s departure.
How do I reach Ravello, Praiano or my hotel after the ferry?
Check which port is served on your travel date and arrange the onward journey by land. Ravello is reached by road and has no ferry port. Amalfi Coast Lovers offers private car and minivan transfers, arranged according to your arrival port, destination, passengers and luggage.
Can I change or cancel a ticket bought through the widget?
For tickets purchased through Misterferry, use your customer account and follow the instructions in your confirmation. Changes, cancellation charges and refunds depend on your ticket and the applicable conditions. Amalfi Coast Lovers tour cancellation terms do not automatically apply to scheduled ferry tickets.
What happens if my ferry is cancelled because of bad weather?
Check the ferry company’s communications and follow the booking service’s instructions. If you booked through Misterferry, contact its support with your ticket number and the affected crossing to start the cancellation or refund procedure. Check the applicable terms before arranging replacement transport.
What is the difference between a ferry, a water taxi and a boat tour?
A scheduled ferry connects ports at published times and is shared with other passengers. A water taxi is a private transfer agreed in advance. A boat tour is an experience with its own itinerary and stated inclusions. A scheduled ferry ticket does not automatically include swimming stops, guided visits or transfers.
