What “verified event” means
This guide includes events with a 2026 date published by a municipality or organiser, or confirmed by several current and consistent local sources. Annual traditions and 2025 listings have not been presented as confirmed 2026 events.
- Dates and days of the week have been checked.
- Times are shown only when officially published.
- A source is linked from every event card.
- Private events and travel packages are excluded.
Verification key
These labels prevent an unpublished programme from being presented as confirmed.
Always check the source again 24–48 hours before attending: weather, traffic restrictions and organisational decisions may change the time or venue.

Alternate number plate restrictions on the SS 163
In October 2026, restrictions apply from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on 3–4, 10–11, 17–18, 24–25 and 31 October. On even-numbered dates, vehicles whose registration plate ends in an even number may not travel; on odd-numbered dates, the restriction applies to vehicles whose plate ends in an odd number.
Motorcycles and scooters are not affected. The official notice lists taxis and licensed private-hire vehicles among the exempt categories, with further exemptions subject to specific conditions.
Read the rules, affected road section and exemptions ↗Ferries, walking trails and weather
Ferry services in October are seasonal and may change because of sea conditions. Check the latest timetable before purchasing tickets. Concerts on the Path of the Gods require suitable footwear and a weather check.
Allow more time than the distance alone suggests when travelling to Scala, Tramonti or hilltop locations: winding roads, limited parking and temporary traffic changes can affect arrival times.

Annual celebrations not yet confirmed as 2026 events
These names appear in generic calendars or on pages from previous years, but at the time of verification there was not enough reliable evidence to confirm a 2026 edition.
- Feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist, Praiano — 18 October The municipality confirms that this religious celebration takes place every year on 18 October, but the available listing still shows the 2025 timetable. The traditional date is reliable; the 2026 programme has not yet been published.
- Olive Festival (Festa degli Ulivi), Conca dei Marini A non-institutional platform lists the event for 3 October 2026, while the municipality’s official page refers only to 4 October 2025. It is therefore not included among the confirmed events.
- Festa dei Boccali pottery festival, Vietri sul Mare This traditional event is often held in autumn at Villa Guariglia, but no official announcement for the 2026 edition was found.
- FAI Autumn Days — 10 and 11 October The nationwide dates are confirmed, but any participating sites on the Amalfi Coast will be announced separately. No local opening has been listed without a specific FAI event page.
- Other Amalfi Coast municipalities As of 29 September, no other verifiable public October 2026 programmes were available for Amalfi, Atrani, Cetara, Furore, Minori, Positano, Ravello or Vietri sul Mare. The calendar may expand with last-minute announcements.
Frequently asked questions about October 2026 events
What are the main Amalfi Coast events in October 2026?
The main confirmed events are the 49th Scala Chestnut Festival, the I Suoni degli Dei and Praiano Chambre & Jazz Music concerts, the St Francis Fair in Tramonti and San Francesco Vive in Maiori.
When does the 2026 Scala Chestnut Festival take place?
The 49th edition is scheduled for Saturday 10, Sunday 11, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026. It does not run continuously for nine days.
Which events in Praiano are free?
The I Suoni degli Dei concerts on 3, 11, 17 and 24 October are free. Il Pescatore e il Ballerino, Il cielo in una stanza and Eccellenze Locali are also free; capacity is limited for these events and booking is recommended.
Do alternate number plate restrictions apply on the Amalfi Coast in October 2026?
Yes. Restrictions apply on the SS 163 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on 3–4, 10–11, 17–18, 24–25 and 31 October. The rules depend on the final numerical digit of the registration plate and include specific exemptions; read the official notice before travelling.
Can I request a transfer to a festival or concert?
Yes. The WhatsApp form lets you enter the date, pick-up location, event, number of passengers and return destination. Amalfi Coast Lovers can arrange a private transfer or a chauffeur-driven tour with customised stops.
Why are some traditional events missing from the confirmed calendar?
An annual tradition does not automatically mean that a 2026 edition has been organised. Without a current announcement from the municipality or organiser, the celebration remains in the “to be confirmed” section and is not presented with invented times or programmes.
